Ride Together. Race Together. Belong Together.

Cycling is better when it's shared.

Ride. Race. Belong.

More than a cycling club

At Victoria Park Race Team, we believe cycling is better when it's shared. It's the early morning roll-out before the city wakes up, the encouragement when the road kicks up, the stories told over coffee afterwards. It's the nerves before a race, the celebrations after crossing the line, and the friendships built somewhere in between.

We're a community of riders united by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to ride, improve and belong. Whether you're chasing your first finish line, your next podium, or simply looking for people who love riding as much as you do, you'll find your place here.

What we believe

Our Philosphy

Three ideas that shape every decision we make—from how we ride and support one another to how we grow as a club.

Community

Great rides start with great people. VRT is built on encouragement, respect and genuine friendship on the bunch ride, at race weekends and over coffee afterwards.
Everyone belongs.

Develop

Every rider has another level to reach. Through coaching, mentoring and structured training, we help members keep moving forward at their own pace.
Improvement looks different for everyone.

Race

We love pinning on a number and giving our best. We race with purpose, and we back our teammates without limits, because no one succeeds alone.
Compete with professionalism.
who rides with us

A club for every rider

What connects us isn't ability.

It's the willingness to encourage one another, share what we've learned and enjoy the journey together, because everyone remembers what it felt like to be the new rider.

Some of us race every weekend.

Some are training for their first event.

Some prefer gravel adventures.

Others love road, cyclocross or mountain biking.

Some simply wanted people to ride with.

Our story

It started with an idea

VRT was founded in 2025 by a small group of Perth cyclists who believed there was room for something different: a club where racing and community weren't separate ideas, but part of the same experience.

A place where experienced riders could mentor newer cyclists, where ambition was encouraged without losing the social side of the sport, and where success was measured in more than results alone.

What began around a handful of major cycling events has quickly grown into a thriving club supporting riders across road, gravel, cyclocross and mountain biking. The vision hasn't changed: create an environment where every rider has the opportunity to improve, compete and feel part of something bigger than themselves.

WHERE WE RIDE

Proudly based in Victoria Park

Victoria Park is more than where our club began. It's part of who we are. Although our rides take us all over Perth and beyond, Vic Park remains the place we call home, where the roads may change, but the community always comes back here.

Home Base

Victoria Park, WA

The club's home and part of its identity, with rides running throughout the Perth metro area.

Coffee stop

Cafe Du Point

Where race plans get made and friendships grow long after the ride has finished.

Club nights

Vic Park Hotel, Albany HWY

Home of our regular social events, bringing members together off the bike.
the people behind the club

Meet the Committee

Behind every ride, race and event is a group of volunteers who give their time to help VRT thrive.

Alastair Brook

Alastair Brook

President
Brooksie’s cycling journey started like many others, turning up to a group ride and simply trying to hang on. What began as fitness quickly became a love of cycling and racing, taking him from the Tour of Margaret River to Nationals, crit racing, gravel and MTB. Having benefited from the support of other riders along the way, he’s passionate about giving that encouragement back while keeping VRT looking sharp as the club’s resident kit guy.
Tom Goerke

Tom Goerke

Secretary
Tom’s cycling journey began in Adelaide in the early 1990s and became a lifelong passion after rediscovering the sport in 2012. He’s since completed seven Tours of Margaret River, Around the Bay and the iconic 3 Peaks Challenge. With extensive experience in cycling club committees, Tom brings a strong governance background to VRT and is passionate about creating a welcoming club where volunteers are supported and riders feel connected.
Amy Currie

Amy Currie

Club Treasurer
As VRT’s first Club Treasurer, Amy combines a passion for cycling with keeping the club running smoothly behind the scenes. A keen road rider, she loves early starts, river loops, Saturday efforts and post-ride conversations about nutrition, gear and power metrics. Her background in functional design and operations brings a sharp eye for detail to VRT’s finances, membership tools and bookkeeping, even if the books are only kept in “some shape.” For Amy, VRT is about great mates, welcoming new faces and a healthy dose of competition.
Dave Morley

Dave Morley

Coaching & Training
Dave came to cycling through triathlon, duathlon and aquabike after a career playing and coaching football. His experience spans racing, working with British Cycling, club development and representing Great Britain at the Gran Fondo World Championships. As VRT’s Club Coaching & Development Lead, Dave is passionate about creating opportunities for riders to develop and gets just as much satisfaction from helping others achieve their goals as he does from his own racing.
Jane Yang

Jane Yang

Social Media & Marketing
Jane began cycling in 2019 and entered her first race less than a year later. Since then, she’s taken on events including 5 Dams, the Tour of Margaret River and the National Road Series. A passionate road and crit racer, Jane also loves capturing the sport through photography. As part of the VRT committee, she supports social media and member engagement and is passionate about building a strong, connected club community.
